Pimping out my sheet
April 19, 2007I'm trying to play around with the edit buttons. I hope that whatever comes out is nice. Oh yeah that's Monet's Sunrise, I like it. Impressionist… Impressive!
And that's a photo of the University Press hallway in Bellarmine. I don't think the caption fits. haha
My Otium is My Negotium
The Greeks believed that only real men can spend time improving themselves. This means that real men can learn literature, write plays, talk rhetoric and other non-essential things for human survival.
Frickin' Pansies. Daisy smelling wussies.
What of people like me? People who's Otium (it's Latin from what I understand) is their Negotium. People who actually find fulfillment in doing their servile arts? See the Greeks considered people who earned a living as incomplete citizens of Greece. They would be poor, probably undereducated and practical. We'd be called slaves. Or barbarians. Perhaps.
First one.
My first Blog. Yes. I am now part of the literary non-elite as stated by Mr. Bloom. I think.
I haven't had my fill of education yet. I'm taking up another 4 years of law. Yes such a manly profession.
No. Not quite.
While I slave for my 6 units of English I have to wash the dishes, do the laundry, feed the dogs and cook the food.
I guess you could call me the modern man.
